Bannock County was established in 1893 and was named after the Native American tribe indigenous to the area. Bannock County is the sixth-most populous county in Idaho and as of the 2020 census had a population of 87,018. The City of Pocatello is the county seat and largest metropolitan area in the county.

Driver's License Division

Make an Appointment. Located at the Sheriff’s Office at 5800 S. 5th Ave. Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Closed Fridays and all Federal Holidays.

Department of Motor Vehicles

Located at the Court House Annex 130 N 6th Avenue across the street from the Courthouse.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Title Processing and Vehicle ID Inspections will STOP promptly at 4:00 p.m.  No exceptions. Closed all County Holidays.

Please Note: This Office Does Not Issue Drivers Licenses.
