As of Sunday, October 1, 2023, the ban on certain types of fires expired for all of Bannock County: Inkom, Arimo, Downey, McCammon, Lava, Pocatello Valley, Chubbuck, Pocatello, and North Bannock Fire District.
Residents with questions about open burning or fireworks are still encouraged to contact their local fire department/district.
Thank you to the officials from the municipalities and fire districts who worked together on this unified burn ban in an effort to reduce the risk of wildfires this year.
