Deceased Identification: train versus semi fatality collision in Minidoka County

The Bannock County Coroner’s Office, in cooperation with the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office, has confirmed the identity of the deceased following the semi versus train fatality collision in Blaine County on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023.

Deceased: Efrain Juarez-Ramirez, 46, of Rupert, Idaho (m)

Next of kin has been notified. Juarez-Ramirez was transported to the Portneuf Medical Center in Bannock County, where he died as a result of his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Bannock County is partnering with Portneuf Valley Development to begin a preliminary effort to gauge resident interest about the potential role of advanced nuclear energy in our county's future.
