2024 County-wide burn ban expires Oct. 1

by | Sep 25, 2024 | Commissioner Press Releases, Highlights, Newsroom

The Bannock County-wide burn ban expires on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, due to the reduced risk for potential wildfires.

The ban restricted certain types of fires in all of Bannock County, including Inkom, Arimo, Downey, McCammon, Lava, Pocatello Valley, Chubbuck, Pocatello, and North Bannock Fire District, to prevent wildfires during high-risk months.

Residents with questions about open burning or fireworks are still encouraged to contact their local fire department or district.

The Bannock County Office of Emergency Management extends its thanks to the municipalities and fire districts who worked together on this unified burn ban and the community at large for their support and diligence in preventing wildfires in Bannock County.
