Bannock County Voters Prepare for November 4 Election

by | Sep 12, 2025 | Clerk Press Releases, Highlights, Newsroom

Bannock County, Idaho — The Bannock County Elections Office is encouraging residents to get ready to cast their ballots in the upcoming city and local taxing district elections this November. On the ballot are several key races, including Mayor, City Council, and School Board positions, along with some local measures.

Voters will have multiple options to participate in the election: in person on Election Day, through early voting, or by absentee ballot.

Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling place, not the Elections Office, on Election Day. Polling places can be found using the interactive map on bannockcounty.gov/elections.

For those who prefer to vote early, early voting will be available from Tuesday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Oct. 31, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Early voting is held at the Bannock County Elections Office, located at 141 North 6th Avenue in Pocatello.

Voters who wish to vote by mail must request an absentee ballot, as Idaho does not automatically issue absentee ballots. Requests must be submitted online at idahovotes.gov or in the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the Elections Office by 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.

Eligible voters can still register at the polls on Election Day, as long as they are U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years old and can provide a valid Idaho photo ID and proof of residence. Voters who are already registered but unable to present a photo ID may sign a personal identification affidavit. Those who have recently moved and have not updated their voter registration are advised to bring a utility bill or rental agreement showing their current address.

Voters with visual impairments who wish to vote independently will have access to the ExpressVote machine at the Bannock County Elections Office during early voting hours, as well as on Election Day at the Elections Office.

Voters can preview their sample ballots and confirm their polling locations in advance by visiting the Bannock County Elections website. Initial election results will be posted online after 9 p.m. on Election Day and will continue to be updated as ballots are counted.
