Courthouse and North 6th Avenue improvement project

by | Aug 13, 2024 | Newsroom

The Bannock County Courthouse campus is undergoing significant improvements this fall. Construction will begin in August and continue through the remainder of 2024. Construction will impact entrances, parking, and vin inspections.

Here are the most current changes that may affect your visit: UPDATED 5/1/2025

  • The parking lot on the former North 6th Avenue is OPEN to the public as of 4/22/2025

COURTHOUSE:

  • The ADA entrance to the courthouse on North 6th Avenue remains closed.
  • A temporary ADA entrance, with designated parking, has been opened on the north side of the building by East Clark Street. ADA patrons are asked to call 208-236-7499 for assistance entering the building.

ANNEX (DMV/PROBATION)

  • Both doors to the DMV and Probation offices are open.
  • Adult Probation is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will return to normal hours when construction is complete.
  • Vin inspections have been moved from North 6th Avenue. Passenger vehicles needing vin inspections are asked to park to the parking lot by East Clark Street. Larger vehicles, such as semis and trailers, are asked to park on the shoulder of East Clark Street before North 6th Avenue. Call the DMV at 208-236-7200 for questions.

ELECTIONS

  • East entrance on N 6th Avenue is closed. Please use the west entrance (ADA-friendly) in the parking lot.
  • Voter parking is available for early voting.
