Avoid long lines and congestion
A person is qualified to register to vote in Idaho if the person:
- Is a United States citizen;
- Will be 18 years old on or before Election Day;
- Will have been a resident of the state and county for thirty days where he or she registers to vote; and
- Is not a convicted felon with an outstanding sentence, probation, or parole.
You must provide one of the following photo identifications for registration purposes:
- A current Idaho driver’s license or identification card;
- A current US passport or other federally (Military) issued identification card;
- A current tribal identification card;
- A current Idaho license or enhanced license to carry concealed weapons.
You must provide one of the following documents to show proof of residence for registration purposes:
- Any form of photo identification listed in the above section (not a federal ID or passport) that shows your current address;
- A current proof of insurance;
- A deed of trust, mortgage, lease, or rental agreement;
- A property tax assessment, bill, or receipt;
- A utility bill, excluding a cellular telephone bill;
- A bank or credit card statement;
- A paystub, paycheck, or government-issued check;
- An intake document from a residential care or assisted living facility;
- Enrollment papers issued for the current school year by a high school or accredited institution of higher education located within the state of Idaho; or
- A communication on letterhead from a public or private social service agency registered with the secretary of state.
Make sure your information is updated with the Elections Office. You must Re-register to vote if:
- You have changed your name;
- You have moved;
- You have not voted at least once in the past 4 years.

To register to vote or request a ballot by mail online, you must have a current Idaho Drivers’ License or Idaho Identification Card.
